Volcanoes has a multidisciplinary international and local design and building team for the design and construction of its eco-lodges led by Praveen Moman. Since 2010 the Volcanoes sites are project managed by Australian architects Regional Associates led by award winning architect Ross Langdon. Ross lead the design and construction of Volcanoes' new Kyambura Gorge Lodge.

Ross grew up in Tasmania and qualified as an architect from the University of Sydney. From an early age he was interested in self sufficient farming and sustainable construction techniques. In Sydney he worked for Sam Marshall and Drew Heath, with whom he still collaborates. In 2006, Ross moved to Europe with a British Council Scholarship and worked for a number of high profile architects including John McAslan and David Adjaye. Alongside his practice of architecture Ross lectures occasionally at London Metropolitan University.

Cambell Drake, also part of Region Associates, has worked on the architectural design and led the interior design of the Volcanoes Kyambura Gorge and Bwindi Lodges since 2010.  Campbell completed a Bachelor of Architecture at RMIT University. In 2006 Campbell co-founded architecture and design office DireTribe Studio winning numerous awards including the Interior Designer Award for Excellence 2007.  In 2008 Campbell was admitted to the Royal Australian Institute of Architects founding the design office Chameleon Architecture as a registered Architect. Campbell has also worked with PT Bambu in Bali Indonesia; a design/build office specialising in sustainable eco-development and design.

James Ssemanda is the Volcanoes Construction Manager and has been with Volcanoes since 2003. James was born in Uganda and trained as a construction engineer. He is assisted by Cyprien Serugero, who was born in Rwanda and trained in Belgium as a surveyor. Nelson Nemeye is in charge of supplies and procurement and was born near Mgahinga National Park, in Uganda and was one of Volcanoes' original employees at Mgahinga in 1996. Robin Pendleton from New York assisted with decoration at Volcanoes lodges in the earlier years, especially at Virunga Lodge. Prabhat Poddar from Pondicherry in India consults on Vasthu, the ancient Indian system of aligning the energy of buildings with the earth.
