Sales and Marketing Manager, Kampala

Vanessa was born and grew up in Ireland. She has a degree in Applied Languages and is currently reading for a post graduate diploma in marketing at University College London.  Vanessa came to London in 2006 and joined Volcanoes in 2007 having previously worked as a Product Manager at another tourism organisation. She was based in the London office for four years but travelled extensively throughout Uganda and Rwanda as part of her role as Sales and Marketing manager, before making the move longer term to Uganda to head up the sales team based in Kampala. Vanessa is responsible for sales and also plays a key role in co-coordinating the international marketing of Volcanoes Safaris and supporting their partners in the UK, USA, Africa and Europe.  Vanessa is also part of the core leadership team helping to ensure the growth and development of Volcanoes Safaris going forward. Vanessa is passionate about wildlife, travel and growing vegetables! 

Alexandra was born in South Africa.  She traveled extensively as a child and spent her formative years living in Uganda with her parents.  She obtained a Bachelors Degree in Development Studies and Geography at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London and returned briefly to Uganda to work for the Uganda Community Tourism Association.  Having completed her degree Alexandra settled in London and in 2005 began working in television and media.  In September 2010 Alex returned to Uganda as Operations Manager with Volcanoes Safaris and she is currently responsible for the smooth running of safaris in Uganda and Rwanda from VS HQ in Kampala.   Alex also manages the Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust, which is a non-profit organisation that undertakes specific community and conservation activities in and around Volcanoes Safaris Lodges in Uganda and Rwanda.  

Dennis has worked at the Volcanoes Safaris Kampala office since 2006. He graduated from Makerere University with a Bachelors degree in Tourism and has travelled extensively in the region to familiarize himself with the services and products Volcanoes offers to its clients. Dennis works as a Tour Consultant but also manages logistics and liaises with the team of Volcanoes’ guides to make sure safaris run smoothly. Dennis is passionate about eco-tourism, current affairs and football.

Raffaella has worked at Volcanoes Safaris in Kampala, Uganda since January 2010 as a Tours Consultant. This is Raffaella' s second job in Uganda, having returned to Africa after 12 years in Venice, Italy where she studied Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Ca’ Foscari and worked for the Tribunal, Tourism sector, in Advertising and in Sales. Born in Rwanda with dual Italian/French nationalities, Raffaella was raised in East Africa and now lives in Uganda with her Israeli husband and their daughter. Raffaella is passionate about travel, the integration of the local communities in Volcanoes’ projects and marketing.

Boniface has worked at Volcanoes Safaris in Kampala since 2010. He did his undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management at Makerere University. This is his second job in Uganda after working as an events management coordinator. He is a Kenyan born and has been in Uganda for the last 6 year where he lives with his wife and daughter. He is passionate about wildlife and loves the eco tourism aspect of Volcanoes safaris.

Agnes was born and raised in Uganda.  She started her career at Volcanoes Safaris in 2006, immediately after attaining a bachelor's degree in tourism from Makerere University Uganda. She’s currently a Tour consultant and has developed a lot of passion for Volcanoes safaris and the tourism industry in Uganda as a whole. To Agnes, the sky is the limit. Agnes is married to Brian Mugume and they've been blessed with a handsome son Jayden.
