Gorilla Permits Available in Mgahinga!

As we recently reported, the Nyakagezi gorilla group has returned to Mgahinga National Park and have stayed long enough for the park authorities to begin releasing permits to track them again!

The group have been indulging a fondness for travel that they share with all Volcanoes guests as they have travelled around the National Parks of Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. They have luckily returned without injury or loss from their excursions and are once again settled in Mgahinga National Park.

We are delighted to announce that after being monitored and resettled the gorillas are now ready for tourists and permits are available to buy from the park HQ! This is fantastic news for everyone visiting Volcanoes Mount Gahinga Lodge, that has been at the heart of the Volcanoes collection for the last fifteen years. The release of gorilla permits at Mgahinga is a welcome boost to the tourism in the area over the rapidly-approaching Christmas holidays, where many families and groups choose to spend Christmas and New Year in a unique and special place!
