A 5 day private safari which starts and finishes
in Entebbe (1 Bwindi
gorilla tracking permit is included in the cost)
This safari flies you from Entebbe to Mweya in Queen
Elizabeth National
Park. On the savannah plains below the Rwenzoris, see
the great game of
Africa in the magnificent Queen Elizabeth National
Park - elephant, lion,
buffalo, hippo and leopard. Track the fast moving and
elusive chimpanzees in
the Kyambura Gorge nearby. Around Ishasha go on the
hunt for the
tree-climbing lions lounging on old fig trees. Then
continue on to track
one of the three habituated gorilla families in the
primeval forest of
Bwindi. Go for nature walks in search of the many birds,
monkeys,
butterflies and orchids or alternatively go for short
strolls around the
Lodge and explore the village. Fly back to Entebbe.
On safari clients stay 2 nights at Mweya/Jacana and
2 nights at Volcanoes
Bwindi Lodge.
An extra night and an extra gorilla pemit can be added
by paying a supplement at the time of booking. |

Day 1
Private charter flight to Mweya where you are met
by a Volcanoes guide and drive straight to
the Lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Lunch
at the Lodge. In the
afternoon a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel
which is especially rewarding
for viewing a variety of game, especially hippo,
buffalo, elephant and a
vast array of birds. Evening game drive. O/N: Mweya/Jacana
Safari Lodge
(FB).
Day 2
An excursion to Kyambura gorge nearby to track
the fast moving elusive
chimpanzees, one of man's closest relations. The
chimp population is quite
mobile and viewing is unpredictable. The walk in
this "lost world" is
nevertheless enchanting, or visit the tropical
Bee Care Centre to look at
their range of community projects from bee keeping,
honey making to the
community nursery for children. Alternatively go
for a nature walk in
Maramagambo Forest. This forest harbours some unusual
species - red-tailed
and L’Hoest’s Monkey, potto, giant
forest hog, pygmy antelope, and giant
elephant shrew. Afternoon game drive. O/N: Mweya/Jacana
Safari Lodge (FB).
Day 3
Start for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (5-6 hours).
Either drive via Ishasha, home of the
tree climbing lion, roads permitting, or take the
alternative route through
cultivated expanses. Time permitting, go for a
guided nature walk in the
thick forest rich in birds, butterflies and primates.
O/N: Volcanoes Bwindi
Lodge (FB).
Day 4
Go gorilla tracking, walking up steep densely forested
hills. In this thick
and humid forest you almost have to cut your way
through the undergrowth but
finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged
in the vegetation is an
inspiring moment. Tracking in Bwindi requires stamina
and can often take
most of the day. O/N: Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge (FB).
Day 5
Go for an early morning nature walk. Drive to Kayonza
and fly back to
Entebbe.
