Nyungwe, a massive montane forest, in southern Rwanda
is the largest in Central Africa and has thirteen species
of primate including chimpanzee and large groups of
Rwenzori colobus. Tracking is on steep slippery hillsides
and viewing is unpredictable. Around 300 bird species,
orchids and butterflies are other attractions.
On safari clients stay 3 nights at the basic ORTPN
Gisakura Resthouse on the western edge of the Nyungwe
forest.

Day 1
Briefing on your safari. Start for Nyungwe Forest
National Park. Visit the old palace in Nyanza.
Drive past green hills of tea and the vast
Nyungwe Forest. O/N: ORTPN Resthouse (FB).
Day 2
Go on an escorted walk in search of the large groups
of colobus monkeys and birds including the Rwenzori turaco.
Or go chimp tracking. Picnic lunch. Return late afternoon.

Day 3
Guided nature walk in the forest or go chimp tracking.

Day 4
Return to Kigali. Visit the cultural museum in Butare
enroute. Transfer to airport for your onward flight.
