The group regularly visits Bwindi Lodge and staff there (and some guests!) have gotten to know the group and its various characters well. 

The group was first formed in 2002 when the ambitious silverback Mwirima led a break away from the larger Habinyanja group with 7 other family members.  Under Mwirimas leadership the group has thrived and now has a total of 19 members. In April 2010 an adult female named Buzinza gave birth to the most recent addition to the family in the Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge garden! The infant, known as Buzinza baby, has been growing steadily in the protection of his family and is now a curious young juvenile as you can see from the clip below!  See our You Tube Channel for more clips of the curious Buzinza baby.
