Our luxury safari packages in Uganda and Rwanda are often considered the best in East Africa. Their locations, the quality of the service and the food among other things make them easily top of the range places to stay. Each lodge has a comfortable communal space in addition to the idyllic bandas, all designed in the style and architecture of local buildings. The lodges at Kyambura, Virunga and Bwindi are all equipped with low-flush toilets and ensuite regular showers in the luxury bandas.
Our safari packages contain a host of activities included in the itinerary, your own personal expert Volcanoes Safaris Guide (whose knowledge makes them more than just a driver and among the best guides in Africa) as well as vehicles, accommodation and all meals as well as all drinks and a complimentary massage. Most operators don’t include alcoholic drinks, massage and laundry services as well as the wide range of activities that we do in the price, but Volcanoes is committed to offering the best and most comprehensive safari experience in the region.
This fantastic safari begins by being welcomed in Kigali by the guide that will accompany you for the rest of your stay. You’re taken straight to the Virunga Lodge through the beautiful terraced hills that are common throughout Rwanda’s landscape. The lodge sits near the imposing Virunga Mountain Range, giving you a splendid view of the five peaks. The following morning will be spent gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcans, concentrating in the light mountain forest on the slopes of the mountains. Once you’ve found the gorillas you can stay in their company for an hour before taking a late lunch and returning to the lodge for an evening of optional activities.
You then have another day in the Virunga lodge to spend either tracking again if you have an additional permit or by engaging in any of the varied and various activities and excursions that are based at the lodge. The following day sees you continue your journey up to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda where the scenery is very different indeed. The Western Rift Valley is home to our Kyambura Gorge Lodge, where you can relax in the swimming pool for the afternoon before indulging in a game drive through the park in the evening. What you see depends on the season but there is plenty out there in both the morning and the evening.
The rest of our stay is spent in the high-class Kyambura Gorge Lodge, where the myriad activities will be sure to keep you enthralled until you leave on the seventh day, heading to Kampala. On the way to the city there is one more stop to make before you fly home and that’s the equator, where you can stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres at once before saying goodbye to your companion guide and flying home again.
