A vacancy for a marketing consultant is available at Volcanoes Safaris, based in our Kampala office. 

Job Overview: To assist in the Marketing activities of the office and promote Volcanoes particularly focusing on digital and social media marketing.

Reports to VS Marketing Manager

Minimum experience of 2 years’ experience in marketing with excellent attention to detail and an interest in hospitality and great ape conservation. 

Contribute to developing and executing marketing campaigns, formulating marketing strategy, coordinating and completing PR and marketing activities, and reporting on the marketing strategy using the Task Sheet.

Content creation: Write engaging content, including blog posts, newsletters, and social media updates all focused on the lodges, safaris, and VSPT of Volcanoes Safaris.

Contribute to improving our social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and Instagram. This involves creating and scheduling content, managing promotions, and increasing engagement.

Assist team members with day-to-day marketing tasks, including market research and competitor analysis, planning and coordinating marketing events and trade shows, identifying requirements, and developing schedules. Also, carry out market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.

Assist in updating marketing materials, data sheets, and presentations including website edits and additions and SEO.

Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written. Must be dynamic, articulate, committed, and willing to learn. 

Must work well under pressure and be able to meet tight deadlines. 

Prepare monthly marketing reports and social media statistics. 

Contribute to weekly sales and marketing meetings to sales growth strategies and client feedback.

May require travel to VS lodges to accompany fam trips or site inspections or for internal training. May require work outside of normal working hours and occasional weekend work. 

Other tasks as directed by the Marketing Manager.
