Dr Jane Goodall's Call For Action at UNESCO World Headquarters

On Saturday 19 October, Dr Jane Goodall addressed the UNESCO World Headquarters as a global messenger of hope. Her speech was powerful and captivating stating 'We are destroying our planet [...], but there are many reasons for us to be hopeful. We must simply begin'. After an hour, her speech left the audience with two essential questions; Did I leave the world a little bit better today? What are we leaving behind for our children?

From a young biologist-enthusiast to a pioneering chimpanzee researcher, Dr Goodall has been working to share the message and empower children through her non-profit The Jane Goodall Institute

In 2021, Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust was honoured to launch a long-term partnership with The Jane Goodall Institute's Roots and Shoots Program in Kyambura Gorge. The partnership supports eight primary schools to include environmental education and activities in their learning.
