Rwanda Tourism Levy 

The Government of Rwanda has introduced a 3% Tourism levy, effective 1 July 2025 as part of a national initiative to strengthen tourism infrastructure, conservation efforts and sustainable development. This is a mandatory government levy and applies to all accommodation places within Rwanda. Please note: 

1. The 3% levy will be added to all existing confirmed bookings for travel from 1 July 2025 onwards.
2. Virunga Lodge rates are being updated from 1 July 2025 to include the 3% levy for all new bookings.

Your sales consultant will be in touch regarding affected bookings and to share updated rates.
